<p>A customer recently contacted us about cleaning a carpet with several &#8220;bubbles.&#8221; ¬†Upon inspection, Restoration Manager Tommie Benn determined that too much carpet had been laid by the installers. ¬†He opened three seams (one of which was over 9 feet long) shaved the carpet, relaid and bound the seams, and knitted the seams back together before cleaning the entire carpet.</p>
<p>With several possible pitfalls in this process, we don&#8217;t recommend just anyone try this themselves! ¬†But Tommie&#8217;s skill and experience paid off for our customer, who sent us the following email just a few hours later:</p>

I am sure by tomorrow morning we will be able to walk on it and will appreciate more. ¬†But I sincerely thank you for your immediate attention and service. Tommie is a great employee of your company. <p style="margin-top: 0.33in;"><em>Dear Sarah:</em></p>
<p><em>On or about September 28, 2009, I received a phone call from my wife indicating the presence of two inches of water in our partially finished basement. To my horror upon entering the basement, I discovered that my sump pump had failed. The first thing I did after replacing the pump was to call my insurance company and open the phone book to find someone who could deal with the mess we were faced with late in the evening.</em></p>
<p><em>Restoration Express was the third and final company I contacted. During my conversation with you I was able to get all of my questions answered quickly and accurately. You were empathetic to my situation and explained the importance of getting someone out the same day, even if we did not choose our company. When I hung up the phone I knew we were going to be in good hands.</em></p>

<p>While our &#8220;work&#8221; involves cleaning, drying, restoring and remediating, our &#8220;purpose&#8221; is really to help people who have experienced some kind of disaster.  We try to salvage their possessions, homes or other structures, and prevent further loss.  It is an emotional time, no matter how small or large the affected area is, because it is not just physical items that have been affected.  There is also usually a sense of security that is lost; the safety of your home has been compromised, your &#8220;space&#8221; has been invaded.<br />
By performing our work professionally, quickly and to the highest standards, it is our goal to relieve stress from the moment we begin.
